Renovations & refurbishment

Make the property work for what comes next

Update the home you live in, bring an empty property back into use or prepare it for a new owner or tenant. We plan and carry out refurbishment, bringing the necessary trades together under Heritage.

Work out what matters before work begins

Knowing a property needs work is one thing. Knowing where to start is another. We look at its condition and what you want it to be ready for, then help you identify the work that matters most.

Refurbishment planned as one project

That may mean combining repairs with a new kitchen or bathroom, updating fitted storage, or completing the decoration and flooring across several rooms. We set out the work and cost so you can make decisions with the whole project in view.

Our focus is refurbishment rather than building new houses or extensions. We also welcome developer enquiries for kitchen fitting, door installation and decorating packages.

What are you planning for?

The same property needs a different plan depending on whether you intend to live in it, let it or sell it.

Inherited or unoccupied property

Understand the condition and the work needed before deciding what to do with the property.

Your own home

Change the rooms that no longer work for you, with the repairs and fitting planned together.

Ready for sale or letting

Agree a practical level of refurbishment for the property and the budget you have available.

Commercial refurbishment

Bring premises up to date or prepare the space for its next occupier.

An empty property with a future ahead of it

An inherited home or a property between tenancies can need several kinds of work at once. We help you bring the repairs and interior improvements into a manageable plan, with the intended use and budget in mind.

What if you need to stay in the property?

Tell us which rooms need to stay available. We will discuss phasing, protection and any restrictions on access. Some work is better carried out in an empty area; we will explain that before starting.

Commercial refurbishment

A plan you can work with

  1. Look at the property

We discuss your priorities and inspect the areas to be refurbished. Existing surveys, photographs or plans help build the picture.

    Discuss a renovation
  2. Agree the work and price

We set out the proposed work, the finishes and the cost, including anything that is not covered by the quotation.

  3. Agree the programme

We plan the order of work and discuss access, deliveries and any rooms that need to stay in use.

  4. Complete the refurbishment

We coordinate the trades and keep you informed, then go through the finished work with you.

Renovation questions

Can you renovate an inherited or unoccupied property?

Yes. We can help you assess the work needed and plan repairs and interior improvements around the next use of the property.

Can you guarantee the renovation will add value?

No. We do not value property and we do not promise a sale price, a rental return, a profit or an increase in value. If an independent valuer has given you a figure to work towards, we can build and price a scope against that budget and speak to them while it is agreed.

Will I have to manage separate trades?

We coordinate the trades included in our quotation. If you have appointed other contractors or a designer, tell us at the start so we can agree how the work fits together.

Do you build extensions or new homes?

No. Our focus is improving existing property, rather than building new houses or extensions. We do welcome kitchen fitting, door installation and decorating work for developers.

Tell us what needs to change

Tell us where the property is, what needs attention and what you want to do with it. You do not need a finished brief to start the conversation.
